It has suddenly turned cold, and we are back to lighting the big fire in the Cellar Door building, though notice a few hardy souls still liking to sit out in the courtyard overlooking the vineyard, bush and gardens to catch the diminishing rays of sunshine. The view is good with the heavily laden olive trees and the autumn coloured vineyard. You can sometimes see kangaroos in the paddock beyond, along with the visiting yellow tailed black cockatoos. The resident fire headed finches are hopping through the trees surrounding the courtyard and a few King Parrots visit as well.
We are now planning for our next event which is “Open Cellars” on the 3rd weekend of June. You’ll be able to visit a few of our local wineries and sample wine, some nice winter food and maybe enjoy some music at some as well, on that weekend. We are just fine tuning our menu for then and you can see a few more details of the weekend on our “events” page. There will be more information added closer to the time.
So if you are thinking of a nice winter warm up in front of the fire with a glass of wine and a pizza or maybe a liqueur with some blue or white Castello cheese and biscuits, then Panton Hill Winery might be the place to be. We are serving 3 lovely full bodied reds…all 7 years old, full of fruity, complex aromas with palates to match and some pretty nice whites as well. Remember to book for 4 or more people if you’d like to eat, as weekends can be busy, with Saturday being the quieter of the two days.
